Super Stopping Bike Friday Brakes

Before, Shimano LX

Which would you rather have?

The long arms on the left, or the short arms on the right?

After, Tektro 917A
A frequent topic of conversations among Bike Friday owners is their braking system.  Here you will find some notes I made as I attempted to improve the braking on a Bike Friday New World Tourist.

These notes were first made in the spring of 1999.  While the images from my Kodak DC20 are a little low-res by today's standards, they were quite spiffy at the time.  Since these notes are still popular and still a lot of visitors, I have done some editing and reformatting in the fall of 2002.
