Green Gear Fenders
Stock Green Gear fenders

I have a couple of sets of fenders which carry the Friday logo.  I like them because they :

  • Appear similar to the fenders sold by Apex
  • Mount and dismount quickly and easily
  • Don't weigh much
  • Cost about $30 a pair
  • Work on a variety of frames and tire types
  • Pack well in the suitcase
  • Keep me reasonably dry
  • Have a single attachment point
TheyTwo different kinds of fenders on the Flying Shoe are a good compromise for a person with several bikes, but not the ultimate in "keep dry" technology.  What I don't like about them are some of the same features listed above:

  • The single attachment point allows them to vibrate in the wind.
  • They are able to cover my 2" knobies
  • They are too wide and far from my 1 1/8" slicks
  • There insufficient coverage (wrap) in the rear to keep the spray from my children in the Burley trailer

If you aren't towing passengers in a trailer and quick packability is a high priority for you, you should certainly consider these.  I was towing a trailer and I was seldom packing my tandem, so I went in search of a different solution.Next ]
