Did I forget anything?

Back ] Up ]

You bet I did.  Because this is a Family Tandem, lots of people can ride it.  That meant that in addition to the basic bike, the suitcases needed to hold:

  • Four helmets
  • A third (adult) seat and post
  • An adult stoker stem and bar
  • A third set of pedals
  • Panniers
It's all in there!
  • Seat bag with road-side tools
  • Mini-pump
  • Mirror
  • Assembly tools
  • Spare tube
  • Two pairs of SPD shoes
Everything fit fairly well except for the last helmet.  After twenty minutes trying to get the fourth helmet in, I realized that the right crank on the front section was the deciding factor.  It was interfering in a prime section of suitcase real estate.  By pulling that crank (and packing it flat with its mate from the rear section) I was able to fit the last helmet into the space it had been bisecting.  Hurrah!

Everything here came out of those suitcases

Everything in the above picture came out of those two suitcases.  What isn't shown are the four helmets and two pairs of shoes that also were in there!
